In this online event we will join Kerry Morrison to talk about her experiences working on socially engaged art projects and her parallel attempts to pin down codes of ethics and considerations for working with people, environment and art.
Kerry will draw her own practice, taking in commissioned projects; establishing and developing a code of ethics for the inspirational arts organisation In-Situ; and her current work bringing art more explicitly into the Crichton Carbon Centre’s activities.The event will help attendees to think about their own frames of reference for ethics within their social practices and culminate with some time for conversation, questions and answers.
About Kerry Morrison
Kerry‘s work explores human and more-than-human connections with the environment: how we move through it, manage it, take from it, and add to it. Her art approach is durational and transitory, in which art is a verb: a process of action, dialogue, and performative patterns that result in new, shared experiences, unfolding narratives, and environmental actions. Collaboration, co-creation and transdisciplinarity play a fundamental role when examining social and environmental challenges within a given locale.
