Join Lady Kitt for an interactive session on designing and delivering creative workshops. In this session, you will learn essential logistics, design, and delivery skills to reach communities effectively. The focus will be on confidently facilitating sessions and safeguarding practices. If you opt to attend remotely, a member of staff will contact you on the day of the workshop with a Zoom link and more info about the session and a digital code of conduct. If attending in person, arrive by 5:45pm for a prompt 6pm start. This is an interactive session, and we encourage you to ask questions, share your suggestions, and actively participate in activities and discussions. If you prefer to listen, that’s perfectly fine too! There will be an opportunity for some diagnostic thinking if you have led a workshop before but want to improve, or if you simply aren’t sure where to start and need help. This is a hybrid event and will take place both online and in real life. Please bring your existing workshop ideas or a sample of a workshop plan you have led before. If you have not led a workshop, feel free to share your thoughts on a workshop you have attended. Lady Kitt (they/them) is a disabled sculptor and drag king. Kitt works on long term, collaborative endeavours driven by insatiable curiosity about the social functions of art. Most regularly working with, Drag House DGA, Disabled artist-led kin collective and their two children​ Kitt is member of the MIMA Advisory Board and founding member of disabled artist led art rabble “kin collective” (North East Culture Awards “Newcomer of the Year” winner 2022). They were a Visual Artist of the Year finalist in the NE Culture Awards, 2024. Projects are usually punctuated by the creation of large-scale, vibrant installations (or sites for exchange) crafted from recycled paper, reused plastics and raw clay, which Kitt calls folk-art shrines or “Neo Folk-oco” (in reference to Neo- Rococo). This event has been organised by The NewBridge Project (Newcastle) for the Kaleidoscope Network, a collaboration between Spike Island (Bristol), Primary (Nottingham), Bloc Projects (Sheffield) and Eastside Projects (Birmingham). EOP Members are automatically part of the Kaleidoscope Network and can attend selected events programmed by each partner for free.
