Join The NewBridge Project for this special ‘DIY Digital’ x Kaleidoscope Network workshop with Textbook Studio! Design It Like You Mean It is a hands-on workshop exploring the basics of DIY graphic design using open-source and accessible resources.This is a hybrid workshop. You can attend online or in person in Newcastle. If you opt to attend remotely, a member of staff will contact you on the day of the workshop with a Zoom link and, more info about the session and a digital code of conduct.If you have any access requirements, please get in touch with admin@thenewbridgeproject.com with the subject line ‘DIY Digital Access’. We have a small budget to support anyone who might otherwise struggle to attend, including helping with travel or providing some low-cost assistive tech.About Textbook Studio Textbook Studio is a graphic design studio focusing on branding, visual identity, and publication design for arts, culture and education. Founded in 2011 by Vicky Carr and Chris Shearston – designers, educators and creative partners since 2007 – the studio focuses on printed materials’ design and art direction, especially visual identity, editorial and publication design, for predominantly Arts & Culture sector clients. The studio was established as a means of pursuing an independent multi-disciplinary practice, rejecting the traditional studio model in favour of a more democratic structure and approach to working with people. They believe each project should belong equally to everybody involved, and so they aim to establish, as partners, more long-term relationships with clients.

This event has been organised by The NewBridge Project for the Kaleidoscope Network, a collaboration between Spike Island (Bristol), Primary (Nottingham), The NewBridge Project (Newcastle), Bloc Projects (Sheffield) and Eastside Projects (Birmingham). EOP Members are automatically part of the Kaleidoscope Network and can attend selected events programmed by each partner for free.
