Linda Brothwell (b.1981, Nottingham. Lives and works in Bristol.) Linda Brothwell studied Jewellery and Metalwork at Sheffield Hallam University and Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery at the Royal College of Art. She is currently pioneering a new understanding of the significance of British crafts skills and tools, illustrating the importance of their value to economic, social and cultural development. She was shortlisted for Design of the Year for her ‘Bench Repair Project’ at Experimenta Biennale, Lisbon (2011) and was awarded a Jerwood Makers Open commission to develop ‘Acts of Care: The Sheffield Edition’ (2013). Recent exhibitions include ‘Acts of Care: The Lost Letters of Liverpool’, FACT, Liverpool (2015) and ‘L’Usage des Forme’s’, Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2015).
