Eastside Projects

John Russell (b. 1963. Lives and works in London) Russell was a founding member of the group BANK (formed 1991), who through the 1990s and early 2000s curated exhibitions which pilloried the contemporary art scene. Russell left BANK in 2000 and is currently represented by MOT International. Much of his recent works are large scale vinyl murals; bright pastiches of brashly photoshopped and computer generated sci-fi & fantasy inspired imagery. Recent exhibitions include Focal Point Gallery, London, The Grey Area. Brighton, Outpost Gallery Norwich and a Frieze Sculpture Park Commission in 2010.
