Family Workshop: Theraplay® Adventure

11am – 2pm

This February half term Beacon Family Services invite adoptive, kinship and fostered families to come and try Theraplay® in a group session at Eastside Projects.

When you attend this half-term event you’ll step into a creative space that reflects how art can tell stories of belonging and nurture and celebrate connection and care. While exploring Marley Starskey Butler's exhibition, Compensare: For the Swallows We Weigh, your family will take part in playful Theraplay® activities designed to build trust, confidence, and connection.

This is a chance to experience art and therapy coming together and is designed for families who want to feel relaxed, and free to explore. Together, you and your child will share joyful activities that build trust, self-esteem, and a sense of belonging. Plus you’ll enjoy the exhibition in a way that feels inclusive and family-friendly, where your child’s energy and curiosity are embraced.

Theraplay® techniques help children and their caregivers communicate and connect in a playful and fun way. By focussing on the child’s perspective, Beacon's expert staff work with families to strengthen relationships by encouraging playful interactions which help relationships feel safe and supportive - feelings which are central to experiencing joy, comfort and connection.
