Eastside Projects

Syllabus VIII Gathering – Galleries Closed

12pm – 6pm

Eastside Projects will be closed to the public on Friday 19 February as we welcome the Syllabus VIII here for a weekend of workshops, walking and eating together.

Across the weekend we will be thinking about making as a form of translation between materials and languages, bodies and landscapes, temporalities and contexts. Drawn to DIY and DIT approaches, to socially engaged and interdisciplinary practices the Syllabus Artists will spend the weekend exploring models of collaboration that emerge through doing rather than discussing, taking part in workshops led by Joanne Masding, Marley Starskey Butler and Kim Bormann. We will also be paying attention to the land and landscapes and through a visit to Moseley Bog with Prof Henry Chapman and Dr David Smith we will explore our relationship to the material conditions that shape how we move, think, and relate to our environments.

The Syllabus is an alternative learning programme that supports ten artists across ten months to co-produce a series of gatherings across the UK with Eastside Projects, Wysing Arts, Site Gallery, PS2, and Spike Island. To find out more click HERE
