Join us for an evening of musical congregation at Saheli's Sonic Lounge! Hosted by SEEMAWORLD and RX, we'll be exploring gender disparities in South Asian sonic expression and request line culture through True Form Project's East in West archive. There will be opportunities to make live requests and delve into both classic and contemporary music as we think collectively about what Saheli could be, represent and respond to, as well as what people long for musically. You'll also get a chance to find out more about our ongoing open call for Saheli band members. This event is programmed by Seema Mattu as part of her Incidental Artists project. More info coming soon!. Imagery from Runa Laila's Superuna (1982) album has been collaged into the event's visual, and features in True Form Project's East in West archive. The ‘East in West’ Archive has been made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the support of local and national partners, inclusive of all communities in and from South Asia.
