Responding to Verity-Jane Keefe's 'Standard Neighbourhood Office Floor Plan', Abs Cassidy and Vato Klemera (Birmingham Conservatoire) present 'One Foot in the Real'. An experimental movement and sound installation that further investigates Verity’s research into decentralised community infrastructures.

‘One Foot in the Real’ de-aligns the boundaries of soft and hard power. Four 'movers' will use the diagram as a map, exploring the space based on conversations with Verity around the parameters of 'official' spaces, and questioning ideas of audience/performer and infrastructural/imaginative space.

Ambient sounds recorded in different sites in Highgate - by the Central Mosque, on Conybere Street, near St Albans Church, and at Horton Square - which have been processed, time stretched and re-pitched, will intermittently punctuate the space bringing the real world into this immersive, interactive experience.
