Open Call: EOP Members Project 2025

We are pleased to invite proposals from artists or artist-curators for the 2025 EOP Members Project. To apply you must be an EOP member - find out more about joining HERE. This is an opportunity for an EOP member to realise a project with the support of Eastside Projects as part of our core artistic programme. We want to invest our time, energy and resources into an ambitious proposal which supports someone to make a step change in their practice by developing new work or realising ideas which would not otherwise be possible. Before you apply, we recommend you check out some of the previous members projects by Natasha MacVoyBijan MoosaviLeah ClementsLindsey MendickLuke Routledge and Freya Dooley. This open call opportunity has also been the start of other projects including large scale commissions by Emii Alrai and melissandre varin. For many of these artists the Members Show was one of the first times they made a project with a larger scale organisation like ours. Previously this opportunity has focussed on the production of an exhibition in our second gallery. Whilst this is still a potential outcome we are no longer defining the form the final project should take, opening out the possibility for members to also propose performances, participatory projects, events series, gatherings etc. Dates for the project will be agreed through discussion with the selected member, but we expect public outcomes will take place between October 2025 and March 2026. WHAT'S ON OFFER The successful proposal will receive:

  • £2,000 artists fee
  • Up to £2,000 for production and other costs related to making the project including materials, fabrication, travel, accommodation, transport, installation, technical support and per diem.
  • £75 towards artist healthcare and wellbeing.
  • Curatorial support and mentoring from the Eastside Projects team.

Proposals for solo or group projects are welcome but if you work as part of a duo or group the fee must be shared. Eastside Projects pays artists a minimum fee of £250 for existing work and £500 + production for new commissions (find our full fee structure HERE) so if you are are proposing a group show please bear this in mind when developing your idea. We particularly welcome applications from members with Global Majority heritage, or those who identify as Disabled or d/Deaf. We are keen to support all members to apply and welcome conversations with artists around access needs. If you would like to discuss any access needs in advance of applying please email info@eastsideprojects.org to arrange a chat. If you are proposing an exhibition it will take place in our Second Gallery. If you have not visited recently you will find a floor plan below. Or check out the space in one of our virtual tours and navigate through the main gallery to the door at the back of the right hand wall.
