In the context of the exhibition 'Duck Weave', the London based writer and art critic John Slyce joined us for a conversation with artist Richard Woods, tackling issues of size and scale.

Richard Woods’ ‘Duck Weave’ is the development of an ancient building technology recently rediscovered by the Internationally renowned artist. Eastside Projects presents the first research stages of Woods’ redeploying of a local ‘Digbeth’ version of this construction technique as the inaugural display of ‘Production Show 2016-18’.

John Slyce has contributed articles, reviews and interviews to many of the major art magazines and has written numerous catalogue essays on the work of artists such as Sarah Sze, Gillian Wearing, Sarah Jones, David Shrigley, Darren Almond, Michael Landy, Carey Young, Cullinan Richards, Allen Ruppersberg, Rodney Graham, Pipilotti Rist, Charles Avery and Becky Beasley. He is a research tutor in fine art at the Royal College of Art and a senior lecturer in the master’s programme in Modern and Contemporary Art and Art World Practice at Christie’s Education.
