This session will explore how to go about actually starting a space, project, gallery, studio or any other artistic venture. Eastside Projects’ Associate Director Ruth Claxton is a prolific setter-upper of things. She will talk about her experience of setting up spaces and projects like Studio Capri, STEAMhouse, the Birmingham Art Map, Workshop Birmingham and Eastside Projects - the logistics, things to consider and ways to organise. The first half hour will be an informal talk about setting up, followed by an open discussion with questions from those present.
