ESP/Grand Union Book Club meets in Birmingham every other month to read together and discuss texts that are suggested by the members.

Grand Union and ESP have been running Book Club since September 2013, exploring a range of texts on various themes.

To coincide with our call out for new members, we ran a taster session for potential Book Clubbers to find out more about how it works and meet the group.

Everyone was invited to bring a dish to share at a potluck supper; ideas for books they’d like to read with the group; and a paragraph of text they’d like to read with everyone on the evening.

We spent the evening eating food together, talking about what’s happened at Book Club so far, and reading paragraphs that the group have brought with them. This was followed by conversations to shape the structure and content of future sessions.
