Just over 12 months ago Ruth Claxton, Alessandro Columbano, Mike Dring and Sean O’Keeffe published the Birmingham Production Space proposal. You can read it on the Workshop Birmingham site HERE
Over the last year Ruth and Alessandro have been working with the Enterprise, Innovation and Business team at Birmingham City University to move the proposal forward, a process which has resulted in a number of bids for funding which would see the Production Space workshops and flexible making space piloted as part of the first phase of STEAMhouse, a new facility designed to fuse learning, knowledge, practice and production.
This event brought us up to date on where the project stands now and was an opportunity to hear more about, and feedback on, the ambitious vision for STEAMhouse phase 2.
