During September’s Digbeth First Friday Giant Axe Field took over the gallery to perform a live and improvised audio visual reworking of Jindřich Polák’s pioneering 1963 film Ikarie XB 1. Adapted from Stanisław Lem’s 1955 novel The Magellanic Cloud, the film follows an interstellar mission in search of alien life and is considered an influential template of contemporary sci-fi screen narratives.
